Parking Planner ("we", "us", "our") provides a web-based tool for generating indicative parking layout concepts. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It's written to reflect what this specific tool actually does — not a generic template.
We are based in Australia and handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you create an account or use Parking Planner, we (or our service providers, listed below) collect:
- Account information — your name and email address, collected when you sign up.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to Pro, your payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we only receive confirmation of your subscription status.
- Usage data — how many layouts you've generated on a given day, used solely to apply the free plan's daily limit. This resets automatically each day.
- Technical data — standard web request information (such as IP address and browser type), collected automatically by our hosting provider and any analytics tools we use, for security and to understand aggregate usage patterns.
What we don't collect
The actual parking layouts you create — your site dimensions, drawn boundaries, addresses, and generated plans — are processed entirely in your own browser. We do not transmit or store the content of your layouts on our servers. If you load a base map for reference, the location you search for is sent to the relevant map provider (see below) to fetch map imagery, but this is not retained by us afterward.
How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account, and let you sign in
- To process Pro subscription payments and manage billing
- To enforce the free plan's daily layout limit
- To respond to enquiries sent through our contact page
- To understand how the tool is used, so we can improve it
- To meet legal and accounting obligations (including GST record-keeping)
Third-party services we use
We rely on the following providers to run Parking Planner. Each handles the information described above under their own privacy policy:
- Clerk — authentication and account management
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing
- Google Maps / VicPlan — base map imagery, when you choose to load one
- Vercel — website hosting
- Analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) — aggregate, anonymised usage statistics to help us understand how the site is used
Cookies
We use cookies required for you to stay signed in, and may use analytics cookies to understand site usage in aggregate. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect your ability to sign in and use the tool.
Data security
We rely on reputable providers (Clerk, Stripe, Vercel) who maintain industry-standard security practices. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access.
Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us and we'll action this, subject to any records we're required to keep for tax or legal purposes.
Your rights
Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, or if you have a privacy concern, contact us via our contact page.
Children's privacy
Parking Planner is intended for professional use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the tool evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of Parking Planner after a change means you accept the updated policy.
